Portamento of Hope addresses food insecurity in Brandon, Florida through immediate assistance and long-term solutions. We combine food rescue with education and skills training to help our community members move from crisis to stability.

Hunger is not just about food—it’s about opportunity, dignity, and hope. That’s why we do more than serve meals. We equip individuals with the tools they need to rebuild their lives, offering education, job training, and community support.
Food Security
- Rescue and redistribute surplus food to reduce waste and nourish the community
- Serve three daily meals to those in need
- Maintain a thriving community garden for fresh, sustainable produce
- Operate a fresh produce market to promote healthy eating
Skills & Education
- Teach sustainable gardening and urban farming practices
- Provide computer literacy and digital skills training
- Offer nutrition education and cooking classes

- Distribute essential items through our thrift store
